Coca-Cola HBC appoints George as Director of Corporate Affairs & Sustainability

Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Plc, formerly known as Nigerian Bottling Company, has appointed Oluwasoromidayo George as its Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability.
Mrs. George resumed her new position in April 2023, quickly after the immediate past Director, Ekuma Eze, left the position on March 31st, 2023.
Prior to her appointment at Coca-Cola HBC, Soromidayo made history as the pioneering female Corporate Affairs & Sustainable Business Director at Unilever for West and Central Africa, which encompasses Franco-phone Africa. She also held the distinction of being the first female Executive Director of the BATN Foundation (British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation). In addition, she assumed the position of Head of Corporate Affairs for British American Tobacco (BAT) in West & Central Africa.
George serves as the Chairperson of the UN Global Compact Network in Nigeria and holds the role of Co-Chair on the CEO Water Mandate Council. She represents the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) and is also the Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Export Group (MANEG).
George is an accomplished Corporate Affairs & Sustainable Business Director who brings a wealth of expertise in sustainable business and development, as well as areas like ESG, sustainability, and CSR. With a strong background in corporate communications, external relations, and policy advocacy, she excels in planning and executing campaigns. George has a demonstrated history of leading inventive projects and formulating strategies to guide companies in achieving growth while upholding sustainable development principles.
Soromidayo George co-founded the Corporate Social Responsibility and Governance Institute. In 2016, she initiated the Heart of Ruth Fund, which has since become the Heart of Ruth Foundation to support the rehabilitation of women and children facing abuse or economic disadvantages.
Currently a DBA candidate at Walden University, she is engaged in research focusing on Bottom of the Pyramid strategies within emerging markets. Soromidayo is an active member of AIESEC Nigeria’s Board of Advisors, a Fellow at the WIMBOARD Institute, and a participant in the WIMBIZ/IE University Executive Education Programme for Women on Boards in Madrid. She also held a position on the WIMBIZ Executive Council. Her involvement extends to an adjunct faculty role at the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University.
In addition, she contributes her expertise as a committee member for Plastic Waste Management at the Ministry of Environment in Nigeria. Furthermore, she holds a position on the Board of the Nigerian Business Disability Network.
