Glo hires Toni Kan as Head of Public Relations
Telecommunications company, Glo has appointed renowned author and public relations expert, Anthony Kan Onwodi as Head of Public Relations.
Popularly known as Toni Kan, the award-winning wordsmith who kicked off his career as a journalist and editor, can boast of over two decades of experience spanning banking and finance, oil and gas, phamarceuticals and government amongst others.
With a proven knowledge of corporate relations and communications, business strategy, and thought leadership, Kan has served and extensively managed the PR accounts of big companies including Seplat Petroleum, GE Nigeria, Emzor Pharmaceutical, Resource Intermediaries, Aart of Life Foundation, Shell/LIMGE project, as well as content provision for dstv.com Nigeria and Ghana.
Also worthy of note, Toni Kan handled PR for the dual listing of Seplat Petroleum on the NSE and LSE, and launched the Visafone Brand. Within 6 months, the Visafone Brand won the “Telecom Brand of the Year”.
He is an author of over 20 books and short stories including Nights of a Creaking Bed which was noted for exploring themes on African sexuality. He was the winner of the NDDC/Ken Saro Wiwa literature prize, awarded by the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), in 2009.
Toni Kan studied English literature at the University of Jos and earned an M.A in English literature at the University of Lagos in 1999, graduating at the top of his class.
