Media Perspectives promotes Jude Odia to GM

One of Nigeria’s most promising media executives, Jude Odia has now been given a bigger role at Media Perspectives. The former Media Director is now General Manager at the leading media agency, putting him in the very top bracket of leadership within the agency.

Odia has been a very influential figure at Media Perspectives, he has played key roles in the growth trajectory of the agency. He has also been widely touted as one of the next generation of leaders in the media industry in Nigeria, thus his promotion didn’t come as a surprise to many.

He is reputed as an erudite strategist with core strength in brand strategy, integrated communications planning and end to end accounts management. Odia has led and coordinated account management teams across West Africa that implemented many successful media advertising campaigns for leading multinational clients.

He has also developed winning media strategies for multinational/local brands in Nigeria and across the West Africa markets.
An associate member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, Odia has attended several professional trainings within and outside Nigeria.

Odia has a solid academic background. He bagged his B.A from the prestigious University of Benin. In 2014 he earned his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Bradford, UK, graduate. He is also a Lagos Business School alumni.

His professional sojourn began in 2001 as a broadcaster with Minaj Broadcast International, now defunct. In 2005, he got his first agency job as a Research & Data Analyst at Initiative Media.

In March 2007, he was appointed as Head Strategy & Planning at Capital Media. Barely one and half months after he joined the media agency, Odia packed his bags and headed off to the banking industry. He was Group Head, Brand Management for FIN Bank, between August 2008 – January 2011

In February 2011, he joined Media Perspectives and rose through the ranks from Associate Media Director, Strategy, and later Media Director. He occupied that position until his recent appointment as General Manager.

Odia’s appointment comes on the heels of Dr. Tayo Oyedeji’s surprising announcement as the Managing Director of Starcom South Africa and Head of Publicis Media Africa. The current MD/CEO of Media perspectives is expected to take up his new job on January 1, 2017 in Johannesburg South Africa, where he will oversee Publicis media strategy operations in Africa.
Troyka is yet to name a replacement for Dr. Oyedeji.
