Your company website is your own digital real estate – Prof. Mande

With the focus to sustain relevant online presence, as well as being constantly active and available for online business transactions, a professional icon in the advertising space, Prof. Samaila Mande, President, Brands Academy Nigeria, has charged organisations and brand managers to create up-to-date company websites, describing it as their digital real estate for corporate profile.
He stated that the frequent outage of the social media in recent times has propelled the need for business owners to alternate for multiple forms of marketing platforms, in the bid to maintain an unrestricted online presence.
Sharing his views in an exclusive interview with Nigeria’s foremost brand and advertising magazine, MARKETING EDGE, the advertising expert said that the abrupt outage of some online platforms has given a dimension on the importance of having more marketing platforms. He urged them to embrace other alternatives such as digital advertising, which he said, though not the most effective for clicks and conversations, can tremendously be of importance in creating awareness at a cheaper cost
“The unpredictability of relying on such an audience rate platform quickly becomes evident because you will just realise that you are putting all your eggs in one basket, and when it crashes, all of them will be gone for that day.”
Encouraging marketers to expand their marketing horizons with available platforms, the brand icon said: “You can also leverage email marketing programme, converged with chains of addresses, which are mass-mailed with what to do with both existing and prospective customers. With email marketing, your brand has 100% share of voice and avoid clutter of social media beeps, making your messages direct and specific.”
He suggested that they add viral element to their email programme by including a referral programme to encourage email forwarding and subsequent list grow. According to him, embracing the use of talk leadership content production will help produce and write video contents that can project the brand or company directly to experts in the same field and it is more effective than social media.
