If you watch some of these cartoons in this list then you are old school. These evergreen animated TV shows are to relive special memories of your childhood. Cartoons had a great impact on shaping our childhood memories. Right from the charismatic, Alice in Wonderland, Scooby-Doo, SuperTed, Tom & Jerry, etc., these old cartoons gave us our animated heroes to choose from. And the list goes on.
We bring you the concluding part of the nostalgic cartoons of old.
Voltron Defender of the Universe: is an animated television series franchise that features a team of space explorers who pilot a giant Super Robot known as “Voltron”. Produced by Peter Keefe and Ted Koplar through his production company World Events Productions, Voltron was an adaptation of several Japanese anime television series from Toei Animation. The original television series aired in syndication from September 10, 1984. The first season of Voltron, featuring the “Lion Force Voltron”, was adapted from the series Beast King GoLion. The second season, featuring the “Vehicle Team Voltron”, was adapted from the unrelated series Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. It was the top-rated syndicated children’s show for two years during its original run, and it spawned three follow-up series, several comic books, and a line of toys.
The Lion King is a Disney media franchise comprising of a film series and additional media. The success of the original 1994 American animated feature, The Lion King, directed by Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff, led to a direct-to-video sequel, a spin-off film, a 2019 film remake, a television film sequel, two spin-off television series, three educational shorts, several video games, merchandise, and the third-longest-running musical in Broadway history, which garnered six Tony Awards including Best Musical. The franchise mainly revolves around a pride of lions who oversee a large swath of African savanna as their “kingdom” known as the Pride Lands, with their leader Simba watching over it as “king”. The first three animated films are widely known for being influenced by the works of William Shakespeare, as well as other works based on his material.
Pinky and the Brain: is an American animated television series that was created by Tom Ruegger that premiered on Kids’ WB on September 9, 1995. It was the first animated television series to be presented in Dolby Surround and the fourth collaboration of Steven Spielberg with his production company, Amblin Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Animation. The characters first appeared in 1993 as a recurring skit on the animated television series Animaniacs. It was later spun off as a series due to its popularity, with 65 episodes produced. The characters later appeared in the series Pinky, Elmyra & the Brain, and have since returned to their roots as an Animaniacs skit in the 2020 revival of that series.
Pinky and the Brain are genetically enhanced laboratory mice who reside in a cage in the Acme Labs research facility. Brain is highly intelligent, self-centered, and scheming, while Pinky is good-natured but feeble-minded. In each episode, Brain devises a new plan to take over the world which ultimately ends in failure, usually due to the impossibility of Brain’s plan, Brain’s overconfidence, Pinky’s bumbling, an oversight on Brain’s part, circumstances beyond their control, or multiples thereof. In common with many other Animaniacs shorts, many episodes are in some way a parody of something else, usually a film or novel.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: is a 1937 American animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Productions. Based on the 1812 German fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, it is the first full-length traditionally animated feature film.
Batman: In a scenario envisioned by Carrie, Batman was a grim, middle-aged crime-fighter in a gritty near-future Gotham City overrun by a violent gang known as the Mutants. In the scenario, Robin was captured by a member of the gang, who began to interrogate her about Batman’s whereabouts. Batman appeared and saved her, then interrogated the thug as to the whereabouts of his leader. Later, at a dump, Batman interrupted a speech by the Mutant Leader. He showed up in a heavily armored tank-like Batmobile.
Superman was a 1988 animated Saturday morning television series produced by Ruby-Spears Productions and Warner Bros. Television that aired on CBS featuring the DC Comics superhero that provided character designs. In the first episode of the series, Luthor was portrayed as a billionaire possessing a ring fashioned with a kryptonite stone, which he used to keep Superman from apprehending him. Wolfman blended characteristics of his recent comic-book revamp of Luthor with Gene Hackman’s portrayal of the character in live-action films.
Pinocchio: is a 1940 American animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Productions and based on the 1883 Italian children’s novel, The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi. It was the second animated feature film produced by Disney, made after the first animated success Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937).
The plot involves an old Italian woodcarver named Geppetto who carves a wooden puppet named Pinocchio. The puppet is brought to life by a blue fairy, who informs him that he can become a real boy if he proves himself to be “brave, truthful, and unselfish”. So, whenever he lies, his nose grows longer, reminding him of his failing efforts at becoming a real boy. Pinocchio’s efforts to become a real boy involve encounters with a host of unsavory characters. The key character of Jiminy Cricket is based on a 100-year “wise, old” talking cricket from the original book, who warns Pinocchio of his impudence when they meet only to be killed in return shortly after, before returning as a ghost.
The Little Mermaid is a 1989 American animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The 28th Disney animated feature film; is loosely based on the 1837 Danish fairy tale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen. The film tells the story of a teenage mermaid princess named Ariel, who dreams of becoming human and falls in love with a human prince named Eric, which leads her to make a magic deal with the sea witch, Ursula, to become human and be with him. The Little Mermaid was written and directed by John Musker and Ron Clements and produced by Musker and Howard Ashman, who also wrote the film’s songs with Alan Menken. Menken also composed the film’s score. The film stars the voices of Jodi Benson, Christopher Daniel Barnes, Pat Carroll, Samuel E. Wright, Jason Marin, Kenneth Mars, and Buddy Hackett.
