Stanbic IBTC Bank opens in kano
Stanbic IBTC Bank says it has opened a new branch in Kano in fulfillment of its commitment to broaden its service channels and, in so doing, bring financial services closer to the residents.
The branch is located on the new campus of Bayero University Kano, the bank said.
According to a statement by the lender, the new office is an additional avenue for the bank to meet the financial needs of its clientele and demonstrates the bank’s commitment to strengthen its retail banking portfolio.
The Head, Personal and Business Banking, West Africa Region, Standard Bank, the parent company of Stanbic IBTC Bank, Mr. Lincoln Mali said, “The new branch reinforces the bank’s promise of convenience and accessibility to a full suite of financial products and services to the university community and other Kano residents.”
“We want to build a network of branches in Nigeria where customers are offered the right services. Our target is to have the best branch network where quality and efficient service delivery is second to none,” he added.
The Head, Customer Channels, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Abiodun Gbadamosi, said the new branch was expected to accommodate the growing need for full financial services in the university community and its environs, assuring Kano residents of the bank’s resolve to continue to provide quality services.
According to him, the bank has plans to establish more branches across the country as it expands its operations.
“Stanbic IBTC Bank currently has over 180 branches nationwide. Our retail banking business operates a network of over 2,500 mobile money agents and we are succeeding in taking banking services to the under-banked.
“Stanbic IBTC would not only be focused on attracting the unbanked population though; we are also poised to create products targeted at customers who may be banked but unhappy with their banks,” he said.
He said the bank would continue to draw on the expertise, experience and rich heritage of the Standard Bank Group to proffer bespoke financial solutions to its customers and Kano residents as it deepens its retail banking drive.
“The university community is a major business hub in Kano and it is imperative that we offer the right kind of services to our customers in that location in a very efficient manner,” he added.
Stanbic IBTC Bank is a subsidiary of Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC, a full service financial services group with a clear focus on three main business pillars – Corporate and Investment Banking, Personal and Business Banking and Wealth Management.
