SBI Media concludes 2nd edition of youth empowerment initiative, SMW 2021

One of Nigeria’s most intriguing youth empowerment initiatives draws to a close as Digital marketing agency, SBI Media concludes the 2021 edition of its flagship SBI Media Workshop(SMW) on 27th November, 2021.

The hybrid event which held physically in Lagos at the Radisson Hotel, Ikeja, was also streamed live to allow participation from youths in the diaspora.

Themed “Tap into the video evolution”, the second edition of the workshop was introduced to give youths the opportunity to learn how to create and monetize video content, and also network with top personalities in the industry, all at zero cost.

The impressive team of facilitators at the workshop were world renowned filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan; Celebrity music video director, Unlimited LA; Partner, Perchstone & Grays LP Chairman, Training Committee, Nigerian Bar Association, Tolu Aderemi; renowned cinematographer, Edem Victor; and General manager at Boomplay, Dele Kadiri.

The workshop featured a series of sessions which covered channel development, audience building, video storytelling, brand partnerships, equipment selection, including the various editing tools.

Kunle Afolayan led the session on “Ask me anything:Video Biz”; Edem Victor held the class on “Building partnerships for growth in show business”; Tolu Aderemi lectured on “Copyright sense. A quick hack into the laws of intellectual property”; Dele Kadiri held the class on “Platform, platform owners and content that catch fire”; and Unlimited LA on “Shooting for glamour”.

Launched in 2020, SBI Media Workshop capitalizes on the impressive rate of mobile penetration in Nigeria to help more Nigerian youths become creators who can profit from the expanding media business.
