Nunu, Premier Cool Engage over 3000 Students in PZ Cussons Chemistry Challenge
PZ Cussons via two of its products, Nunu Milk and Premier Cool, was able to put excitement on the faces of over 3000 students in the preliminary stage of the 2017 PZ Cussons Chemistry Challenge which took place recently in Agege, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, Surulere and Amuwo Odofin local governments areas of Lagos State.
The two brands had joined forces to sponsor the 4th edition of the chemistry challenge which was initiated in 2013 by PZ Cussons Foundation to stimulate, inspire and reward the study of science and chemistry in public and private senior secondary schools in Lagos State.
During the formal unveiling of this year’s program, the Executive Director for Brand Development & Activation, Christos Giouras revealed that, the science contest has consistently made resounding impacts, spurring the interest of Nigerian students in the learning of chemistry.
He further stated the the two brands aim to provide emotional and physical experience for the candidates and the teachers at every level of the competition. This he said will spur them to victory as they contest for the most coveted chemistry prize in Nigeria.
The competition which is designed to bring out the best in both students and teachers comes in four stages. 100 participants with the best results will move to stage two to compete in another round of MCQ test. The top 24 participants will go on to stage three to compete in the practical test stage. From this level, the best six will qualify for the Final stage.
The final stage will be conducted live on stage through a QUIZ format. The finalist with the highest overall score becomes the overall PZ Cussons Chemistry Challenge Champion for 2016/2017
According to PZ Cussons, the overall winners will get “a trophy & gold medal, N700,000, laptop, N100,000 for the teacher and N100,000 worth of laboratory equipment for the school. Second place prize -N450,000, laptop, N80,000 for the teacher and N80,000 worth of laboratory equipment for the school.
“The third place prize, N350, 000 laptop,N70,000 for the teacher andN70,000 worth of laboratory equipment for the school. While the fourth place will go home with N250,000, laptop, N60,000 for the teacher and N60,000 worth of laboratory equipment for the school.”
It would be recalled that PZ Cussons Nigeria Foundation was launched in 2007 with the aim of Nigerian communities by supporting projects in the areas of infrastructural improvements like potable water, health, education and empowerment. According to the company, the Foundation has completed over 58 projects in different parts of the country.
