Mediacom Repositions Ahead of Publicis Acquisition

…Reocates to Troyka Building

Mediacom, the media buying agency of Troyka Holdings is set to move its operations base to the iconic corporate head office of Troyka Holdings on 33/39 Oduduwa way, Ikeja.

This is believed to be a part of activities to reposition the network ahead of the proposed acquisition relationship between Troyka Holdings and Paris based Publicis and also to enhance operational proximity of the network.

Meanwhile across the wide network of Troyka’s agencies, there is a palpable cloud of excitement and pride in anticipation of the deal and the imminent change in status that is expected to accompany it. Some of the officials of the network told MARKETING EDGE that it is going to be the most outstanding event in the marketing communications sector in Nigeria and beyond.

According to sources, the acquisition could have been consummated much earlier but for some technical hurdles which could not be wished away, but the hurdles were finally overcome during the last quarter of 2015 and by December the final details were resolved and the deal perfected.

MARKETING EDGE recently sent a mail to Publicis to confirm the terms of the proposed deal and actual time of commencement of the partnership, the global network promised to get back, but were yet to send a reply at the time of this report.

Should the Publicis-Troyka acquisition pull through it will be the biggest acquisition partnership in Nigeria and will represent a major turning point for the Troyka group as they will then be primed to take over some of the biggest accounts in Nigeria. Already MediaCom is already benefitting from the imminent deal as the Etisalat business has since been moved to the agency.

Until now, Mediacom which is a market leader and pioneer agency in Nigeria’s media advertising sector has been located on 50 Adekunle Fajuyi Street since inception. And it is not yet clear if other agencies in the Troyka network will also be moved.
