LIONS Scholarship 2025 appoints Ntsubane as jury president

The LIONS Scholarship 2025 has appointed Andisa Ntsubane as jury president. Ntsubane, the Managing Executive, Brand, Marketing and Communications, Vodacom Group, Africa is a seasoned marketing professional of global repute.

Mr. Ntsubane is a Chartered Marketer and Certified Customer Experience Professional with over 20 years experience working across multiple industries from FMCG, Telecommunications, Banking, Information Communication and Technology, Sustainability, Insurance and Financial Services.

Andisa is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of Cricket South Africa (CSA). CSA is the National Governing body for the sport of Cricket in South Africa.

An Afro-optimist with extensive experience working across the continent, Andisa has also co-authored a Brand Management textbook and wrote about “Managing brands across multiple geographies”.

Selected to be one of a 100 Global CMO’s onto the Institute for Real Growth (IRG) 100 Programme, Andisa was voted by his peers as the 2021 IRG Champion.

According to the LIONS Academies, applications are open to people born on or after 20 June 1994. The minimum age for applying is 18 years old, and proof of age will be required. Applicants also need to have a minimum of two years’ work experience in a role to be eligible. The LIONS Academies are presented in English.

Applications for 2025 opened on 3 October 2024 and closed on 5 December 2024. Applicants would be notified on 22 January 2025.

The LIONS Scholarship 2025 offers 10 fully funded scholarships to underrepresented talent within the creative industry.

Every year, the organisers receive hundreds of applications for the LIONS Scholarship, and judge every application through a two-stage process. After the initial application, they use a jury of over 40 creatives to create a shortlist. The jurors are creative directors, art directors, creative partners and copywriters from around the world, so they know exactly what creative excellence looks like and who has the potential to reach it.

The LIONS Scholarship is designed to support the next generation of talent, placing an emphasis on diversity of location, gender, race, class, preference and perspective. With five places available in the Brand Marketing Academy and five in the Creative Academy, a total of 10 people aged 30 or under from 10 countries will be accepted for the Scholarship.
