The best look one can wear is healthy, glowing skin, which is why the Vaseline brand has devoted itself to treating all skin types for more than 150 years, from the mildest conditions to the most severe ones.

Vaseline petroleum jelly is a skin care jelly that gives a healthy skin and has developed a variety of creams, including ones that balance out skin tone, provide intense care, all of which are appropriate for both the young and the elderly. The Vaseline brand was built on its ability to promote healing.

This genuine “Wonder Jelly” has been curing scrapes, burns, dryness, and more for 150 years since Robert Chesebrough created it in 1870.

The origin of the Vaseline brand could be traced to 1859 when Robert Chesebrough visited the little Pennsylvanian town of Titusville. In order to treat burnt or wounded flesh there, oil workers had been utilizing rod wax, a crude kind of petroleum jelly that was a byproduct of the drilling they were working on at the time. As a young scientist, he started researching the chemical known at the time as “rod wax” because he was curious about its therapeutic properties. Chesebrough created a lighter and transparent gel by distilling it through various refinement and purification processes. He then patented it in 1865, and till this day it is used in millions of homes all across the world who love, trust and depend on the brand. The healing power that was created from the very beginning is still present in every product produced under the Vaseline brand. Although the company initially just produced petroleum jelly, it has since expanded to include other goods that can give a household’s skin a healthy glow.

However, the Vaseline brand was established under Unilever Nigeria Plc, the largest and most successful fast-moving consumer goods corporation in the world in 1988 as a result of its mission to inspire people of all backgrounds and skin types to value their own skin.

In 2014, Vaseline creams and lotions were launched into the Nigerian market and according to a report, the introduction of the products served as a positive step forward as they were created expressly to satisfy the growing needs of their teeming consumers.

Many Nigerians have learnt to love and appreciate their skin over the past three decades that Vaseline has been successful in Nigeria. Products like Vaseline petroleum jelly, Vaseline Rosy pink lips balm, Vaseline Cocoa Glow body lotion, Vaseline Eventone body lotion pink, and others have made this possible.

The Vaseline brand recently launched a campaign called #sluggingwithvaseline in the spirit of appreciating the skin, in which people are instructed on how to incorporate the use of Vaseline in their beauty routines and are also encouraged to create a video with the hashtag in order to not only promote the product but to also help people see the need to care for their skin.

Vaseline believes that having healthy skin is a privilege, not a right because of the continual touch it has with the outside world and that the skin is vital to healthy living. The brand and its variants have made it their priority to provide access to dermatological care and education for 3 million people annually by 2030. Through this Vaseline Healing Project they are also looking forward to offering additional training to medical experts, dermatological care, and medical supplies necessary to aid in the healing of the skin of individuals all over the world.
