To drive growth in the growing U.S. spirits market, Coca-Cola has adjusted Red Tree Beverages, a subsidiary that manages the company’s alcoholic beverage ventures, for a new partnership with spirits giant Sazerac. The partnership will witness the family-owned American alcoholic beverage company take over production and distribution for Fresca Mixed, a soon-to-launch Fresca Hard, and Minute Maid Spiked.
The partnership will combine Red Tree Beverages’ expertise in brand building and marketing with Sazerac’s production experience and scale, established sales network, distribution management, and lasting brand stewardship. Also, the new deal gives privately held Sazerac a significant role in Coca-Cola’s U.S. alcoholic ready-to-drink portfolio.
Industry analysts have projected strong growth for Red Tree Beverages in 2026 as the alcoholic ready-to-drink category expands.
Launched in 2022, Fresca Mixed offers two grapefruit soda-based RTD cocktails in 355ml cans that clock in at 5% ABV: Vodka Spritz and Tequila Paloma.
Since its launch, the alcoholic version of Red Tree Beverages’ Fresca soda was created in collaboration with Constellation Brands.
The change in the spirits partner comes as Red Tree Beverages prepares to launch Fresca Hard, a zero-sugar flavoured malt drink with 99 calories, early next year.
