APCON Now Inaugurates New Council This Week
The Advertising Practitioners’ Council of Nigeria (APCON) is now set to inaugurate the governing council to oversee all the key issues affecting the advertising sub-sector of the marketing communication industry.
MARKETING EDGE had exclusively reported that the council will be reconstituted last week. The new date was announced by the Chairman of the Council and a circular to that effect by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation has been sent to concerned stakeholders who are expected to meet for the inauguration in the APCON headquarters in Lagos.
Dignitaries expected at the inauguration include; the supervising Minister of Information, Mr. Edem Duke, permanent secretaries and other stakeholders in the marketing communication industry.
Putting behind the challenges of the past months, Mr.Ufot says that it has become essential for stakeholders to come together and brainstorm on issues affecting the industry, noting that his administration is committed to bringing all stakeholders on board so as to help move it forward.
While singling out the media stakeholder for their support in fighting the reform battle which almost shook the industry to its foundations, he noted that the success recorded in the course of the struggle was largely due to the voice given to the struggle which he noted the media played a huge role.
