FinTechNGR set to hold a webinar on data protection regulation
FinTech Association of Nigeria is set to hold a webinar tagged FintechNGR 2.0 Webinar. The theme of the webinar is Understanding the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation, and would-be participants are advised to register in advance. The webinar which is geared towards FinTechNGR’s vision to make Nigeria one of the world’s leading markets for FinTech innovation and investment is scheduled to hold January 24, 2020 at 01:00 PM West Central Africa.
Speaking about the webinar via its official twitter handle, FinTechNGR said the webinar was designed to help participants understand the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) that requires their organisations stay compliant with the storage and management of personal data of Nigerian citizens and residents.
“FintechNGR’s choice of making it a webinar is borne out of our conviction to bridge constraints and restrictions that may arise from location. It does not matter where you are or where your company is located.
“This webinar will help you evaluate what to expect from the regulation, how prepared (or not prepared) your organisation is right now, what you need to do to navigate the upcoming changes and the best ways to stay secure,” the statement noted.
The webinar will be facilitated by Simisola Eyisanmi, Senior Associate, Chris Ogunbanjo LP.
Simisola has over six years of legal experience and has gained experience in the litigation unit, intellectual property unit, and company secretarial unit, before committing to the corporate & commercial unit of Chris Ogunbanjo & Co. She is industrious, intelligent and has advised a plethora of multi-national and local organisations on various assignments, including regulatory compliance, legal opinions, implementation of transaction/project structures, reorganisation and business restructuring. Her core practice areas include Mergers and Acquisitions, Project and Asset Finance, Banking, Foreign Investment & Divestments and Insurance. Simisola holds Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Law from the prestigious University of Ilorin and Master of Laws (LLM) University of Lagos.
