MTN enhances customers’ experience with price slash across the board
To augment users’ experience and enable its subscribers do more in the digital age, MTN Nigeria has slashed data prices and promised better offerings for its new customers.
Under the new price structure, customers can now enjoy more value for money with up to 30% more data volume for 30-day plans. They will also enjoy up to 100% incremental volume for weekly data plans and 25% incremental volume for daily plans.
During an interactive session with the press recently in Lagos, MTN Chief Marketing Officer, Rahul De, said the new offering was in line with the swift internet speed delivered by 4G+ network.
“With the faster internet speeds delivered by the launch of 4G+, this data price slash could not have come at a better time for our customers, as we have seen that faster data speed means more data usage.
“With our new price slash, however, we have something for everyone regardless of your budget. In the space of a few years, people went from instant messaging to sharing funny videos and from listening to music to streaming high definition movies. People’s data needs have changed, we recognise that. Our customers need much more and we are delivering that for less,” he explained.
Also speaking at the event, General Manager, Brand and Communications, MTN Nigeria, Richard Iweanoge, said the new offering was part of MTN’s value addition to its teeming and esteemed customers.
“As a brand, we are not only slashing prices across the board, we are also bringing value to our customers. We want all our customers to be part of the digital revolution. We did not slash prices for the sake of doing so. We took feedback from consumers across demographics before introducing this offering. And we are sure they will meet our consumers’ data needs,” he explained.
Mr. Iweanoge also responded to questions on whether the price slash was time-bound saying, “This is not a promotion with time limit. It is our offering to our consumers.”
On the speculation that such slash in price across the board usually culminate in congestion in the digital pathways thereby jamming the network, General Manager, Data & Devices, MTN Nigeria, Abiodun Ajayi, assured consumers that adequate preparation had been made to that effect.
“We know that congestion is likely to emanate from the traffic the offering usually generates, but I can assure you that every necessary provision has been made to cater for such. We have created enough pathways both for heavy and light data users to enjoy data usage and voice calls seamlessly,” he explained.
To enjoy the price slash, customers are advised to dial 131, *131# or download the MYMTNApp on their phones. Data bundles are available via all bank mobile apps, mobile banking channels or by USSD.
