International Breweries Plc has launched #KickStart2019 – a SocialInvestment Initiative that focuses on capacity building, seed funding and a year-long support for youth run businesses in the country.
The Chairman of the Advisory Board of International Breweries Foundation, Peter Bamkole, noted that the foundation has set aside the sum of N150 million to assists deserving winners.
Mr. Bamkole pointed out that Hero and Trophy lager are the brands on the stable of International Breweries Plc that are behind the #KickStart Program which has now gone national from its erstwhile regional focus.
In his words: “Now in its 4th season, apart from the capacity building and post training support, the sum of N150m has been set aside as seed funding to be given to deserving winners for the #KickStart Program.”
He, however, encouraged other brewers in the country to contribute immensely towards supporting the youths by giving them seed funding to start up their own businesses.
“Can you imagine 10 Large Corporates coming together over the next 10 years to provide an even BIGGER intervention? Can you imagine the impact that would create and how the Youth unemployment narrative would change?” he asked.
According to him, two of the past beneficiaries gave testimonies of how #KickStart truly kicked their businesses to success, with revenues reaching 10X in 3 years and Job creation of 17 within the same period.
“While every HERO deserves a TROPHY, the Grand TROPHY is kept for the HERO that makes more HEROs from self,” Mr. Bamkole said.
