After more than three decades in communications and public affairs, Victoria Uwadoka has retired as Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Lead for Nestlé Nigeria, closing a distinguished career that has spanned logistics, entertainment, beauty, healthcare, information technology and food and beverages.

Her departure marks the end of a decade-long chapter at Nestlé Nigeria, where she played a central role in shaping the company’s reputation, stakeholder relationships and sustainability communication.

A Career Built Across Sectors

Uwadoka joined Nestlé Nigeria in December 2016 after serving as Marketing Communications Manager at Microsoft West and Central Africa, where she managed communications and marketing activities across Francophone West and Central African markets.

Her career reflects the breadth of modern corporate communications. She has worked across multiple industries, adapting her expertise to different audiences, business priorities and market realities while maintaining a consistent focus on reputation, relationships and impact.

She holds a BA (Hons) in Modern Languages from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and is a certified public relations and marketing communications professional, with training from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism and the Kellogg School of Management.

She has also undertaken professional development at Pan-Atlantic University, further strengthening her strategic and leadership capabilities.

Leading Communications at Nestlé Nigeria

At Nestlé Nigeria, Uwadoka became a key voice in communicating the company’s corporate purpose and sustainability agenda. Her work covered nutrition, youth empowerment, agriculture, water stewardship, environmental responsibility and community development.

She helped translate complex corporate and sustainability priorities into clear, credible narratives that built understanding and trust among employees, communities, regulators, media and other stakeholders.

One of her notable contributions was her leadership of the Nestlé for Good campaign, which spotlighted the company’s social impact initiatives across three focus areas: nutrition, thriving communities and protection of the planet.

Beyond external communication, she championed stronger employee engagement, helping to connect internal audiences with the company’s values, priorities and long-term vision.

Colleagues and industry stakeholders describe her as a professional adept at managing through disruption, using communications and relationship-management strategies to drive sustainable business and social outcomes.

A Voice for the Profession

Uwadoka’s influence extends beyond Nestlé Nigeria. Through industry leadership, advocacy and mentorship, she has contributed to the growth of Nigeria’s communications profession.

She has consistently championed strategic communications as a driver of business performance and societal progress, encouraging practitioners to see their role not merely as publicity, but as reputation management, stakeholder engagement and value creation.

Her passion for building synergies has been evident throughout her career. She has used her skills and experience to bring individuals, organisations and communities together around opportunities that create shared value.

A Fitting Farewell

Commenting on her retirement, Wassim Elhusseini, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Nigeria, praised her contribution to the company and the wider profession.

“Victoria has made an important contribution to Nestlé Nigeria over the past decade, and we are deeply grateful for the leadership, professionalism and commitment she has brought to our business and the communications profession. We wish her every success in this next chapter,” he said.

As she steps away from full-time corporate life, Uwadoka leaves behind more than a successful career. She leaves a legacy of professionalism, mentorship and purpose-driven communication.

For Nigeria’s marketing communications industry, her retirement is not simply the end of a role. It is a reminder that the best communicators do more than manage messages they build trust, shape understanding and help organisations create value for business and society.
