Victor Azu has begun a new chapter as Head, Corporate Communications at the Office of the Tax Ombud, Nigeria, a move he described as an opportunity to help deepen public understanding of the office’s work and strengthen engagement across the tax ecosystem.
The Office of the Tax Ombud is an independent institution created to strengthen fairness, transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s tax administration system, while providing a platform for resolving taxpayer concerns and protecting taxpayer rights.
Azu said he is excited to support the office’s mission, noting that it plays an important role in building trust within the country’s tax system and giving taxpayers a structured way to seek redress.
“I’m excited to begin a new chapter as Head, Corporate Communications at the Office of the Tax Ombud, Nigeria.
The Office plays an important role in strengthening trust, fairness, and accountability within Nigeria’s tax system, while providing an independent platform for addressing taxpayer concerns and protecting taxpayer rights.”

Before this appointment, Azu built a career in strategic communications and institutional storytelling. He strategic communications leader, public broadcaster and institutional storyteller, with close to 20 years of experience in media, policy and digital equity.
