The spotlight this Wednesday shifts firmly to the recently concluded Nigerian Public Relations Week in Kaduna as MARKETING EDGE ONTV hosts Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, Lead Partner at CMC Connect LLP, for a far reaching industry conversation that places public relations at the centre of national development.

MARKETING EDGE ONTV hosts Yomi Badejo-Okusanya this Wednesday

Serving as Chairman of the Organising Committee for NIPRW 2026, he leads the discussion by unpacking the strategic decision to take the flagship event to northern Nigeria for the first time, positioning the move as a deliberate effort to deepen inclusion, rebalance professional engagement, and expand the reach of industry dialogue across the country.

At the same time, he breaks down the thinking behind the theme, “Food Security: From Policy Paper to Public Plate, The Imperatives of Public Relations,” clearly framing communication as a vital bridge between policy intent and measurable impact on citizens.

With over three decades of experience, Badejo-Okusanya brings depth and authority to the conversation. Widely known as YBO, he combines academic grounding in History from the University of Benin with professional recognition as a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria. Over time, he has consistently shaped discourse around stakeholder engagement, corporate reputation, and perception management across Africa.

Through his leadership at CMC Connect LLP, he has also strengthened the firm’s global relevance, notably securing an affiliation with BCW, a major international communications network.

His expertise spans corporate communications, financial PR, crisis management, and government relations, with high level advisory engagements that include working with former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

His contributions have earned him multiple recognitions, including the Public Relations Golden Eagle Award, the Bob Ogbuagu Leadership Award, the Global Alliance Global ICON Award, and the PR Powerlist ICON of the Year 2023, alongside inductions into both the Brandcom Awards and ICCO PR Halls of Fame.

Meanwhile, the programme retains its established structure, delivering its three signature segments, Brand News, Industry Conversation, and Brand in Focus, within a 30 minute broadcast.

Viewers can watch on TVC News via DStv Channel 418 at 12:30 pm Wednesdays, and on wapTV via DStv Channel 262 from 11:00 am to 11:30 am, with a repeat airing scheduled for Thursday at 9:30 am.

As the weekly series continues, MARKETING EDGE ONTV steadily reinforces its position as a platform that not only features leading voices but also drives critical conversations that shape the direction of marketing communications in Nigeria.
