7even Interactive underscores rising profile with LAIF win
7even Interactive emerged one of the big winners at the recently concluded Lagos Advertising Ideas Festival 2017. The agency accumulated a total of 16 medals- four gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals, to come fourth on the overall medals table.
It was a performance that more or less cemented its place as a fast rising creative powerhouse in the Nigerian advertising industry and also proved that its success at the Loeries, where it won a Bronze, the only medal by any agency in West Africa, was not a fluke.
LAIF is an annual award, organized by Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) where Nigerian agencies subject their works to peer review and the best works are rewarded.
This year’s performance is indeed a major step forward for the two year old agency, which won eight silver medals last year, and it underlines its ambition to be in the elite club of advertising agencies in Nigeria.
At least three of 7even Interactive’s gold came in the digital categories to demonstrate the agency’s strength in the use of digital. It was about the best performance in the digital sections and the agency has said that its goal is to redefine the way digital is deployed in the creative process.
“When people talk about digital, to some extent they talk about digital media buying, but we are determined to talk about the use of digital as an ad form and not just for media buying. For us that is what digital is about and that is what gave us the award,” Ndukwe Onuoha, Creative Director at 7even Interactive said.
The Frixon campaign which won the medals was an anti-rape movement to draw attention to rising cases of rape in Nigeria. And it was one of the campaigns that took the social media by storm and got Nigerians vigorously talking about the rape subject.
Frixion’s impact has resonated beyond Nigeria, the campaign won bronze in the Digital and Interactive category of the Loeries Award which held at Durban, South Africa in August.
