What is your rating and assessment of the Nigerian broadcasting sector especially Radio?
Against the back drop of our mission, to educate, entertain and boost our cultural and sporting values through broadcasting business, I would say it is evolving, growing great and the regulatory bodies are really doing an excellent job. So, it is highly commendable and flowing with our vision for the north central generally and Ilorin specifically.
How are you coping with the challenges of the business?
In the beginning it sounded like a mission impossible, the challenges were very enormous but through aggressive drive to keep the business moving making the station live after two years. Thereafter, things are getting better especially in this region of the North. Challenges from sales and marketing in the region and adherence to standard broadcasting rules and regulations seem to be heavy and difficult but for our listeners and clients, things are now looking up. It can be better.
How prepared are you in respect of the analogue to digital switch over for the broadcasting sector?
We are more than prepared because we started the station digitally, so switching should be for those who are analogue and not for us. We were digitalized because the bottom line was that we took up the business of broadcasting with futuristic plan and projections, so we are already in the game.
Is the deadline from the NBC to switch from analog to digital achievable?
Yes, very realistic for us because we are already digitalized, we are hitting the ground running because he, who fails to plan, plans to fail. We are very well prepared.
What is the market response to your launch in the North- Central, and projection in the next 5 years?
Very good, our audience accepted our broadcast as a good development for the north central region. Although it was difficult for many to comprehend, but can tell you, they are living up to expectation and the growth projection. In the next 5 years will be as planned, and when it comes to broadcasting at global level in relating to our listeners across the world.
