Standard Chartered names Joke Adu Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing

Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited has appointed Joke Adu as the new Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand, and Marketing for its Nigeria operations.
Joke began her journey with Standard Chartered in 2007 and has since taken on various senior positions within the Bank in Nigeria, covering areas such as Customer Service/Client Experience, General Management, Project Management, Sustainability, Governance, Marketing Communications, and Brand Management.
She has also held leadership roles across different regions, including positions in Cote D’Ivoire, Mauritius, and The Gambia. Recently, she served as a regional lead for Communications and Sustainability Community Impact within the Africa and Middle East Centre of Excellence.
Joke holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and a Master’s degree in Media and Communications. She has earned several certifications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK), the Digital Marketing Institute (Ireland), the Nigeria Institute of Marketing (NIM), and the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). She is also associated with the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
An alumna of the esteemed Standard Chartered Africa and Middle East (AME) Emerging Leaders Program, Joke is also a Certified Neuroleadership Coach, supporting the Bank’s IGNITE program for employees’ professional wellbeing globally.
Joke succeeds Dayo Aderugbo, who led the function from 2014 until her departure from the Bank earlier this year.
