SO&U’s Chris Ogunlowo wins Marketing Edge’s Creative Personality of the Year
It was a night of recognition and celebration of excellence at the Marketing Edge Awards as several organisations and distinguished personalities were honored for their contribution to the marketing communications industry. One of such personalities was Chris Ogunlowo who was honoured as the Creative Personality of the Year.
Mr. Ogunlowo currently leads the SO&U creative efforts in managing the communication needs for Africa’s telecommunication giant, Globacom. Recognised for creating some of the most talked-about campaigns in Nigeria, he has been featured in the world’s notable advertising compendiums.
Some of the outstanding creative works attributed to him include, Mother’s Day viral campaign which gained traction across the online space winning several Gold, Silver and Bronze at the LAIF Awards as well as a Gold at the African Cristal Awards. His Glo “Rhythm” TV commercial also won 3 Gold and 1silver at the LAIF Award.
Reacting to the honour, Mr. Ogunlowo expressed delight on being celebrated as Marketing Edge’s Creative Personality of the Year and dedicated the award to his team members for providing the necessary support.
“I am pleased and humbled to have been recognised by Marketing Edge for the work we do. Coming from such a distinguished organisation, I am inspired and challenged to do more for the profession. The award will definitely lead to high expectations and we will continually raise our game in producing compelling and superior ideas for our clients,” he said.
As a thought leader in the creative industry, media, literature and pop culture, Mr. Ogunlowo speaks at conferences and universities. He was recently selected as a Grand Jury for the New York Advertising Festival Awards, and will be judging the Ad Stars Awards in South Korea.
