Plural Media, Invent Media, others begin awareness campaign on Coronavirus

Sequel to its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Plural Media, a leading out-of home media agency in the country as well as Invent Media, also a major player in the OOH advertising sector have commenced massive awareness campaign on Coronavirus on their top of the market digital billboards Pan Nigeria.

The two leading OOH companies who have since been emulated by other corporate players like Loatsad Promomedia, FirstBank and several others, engaged on the public awareness campaign as a way of helping to mitigate the debilitating onslaught of the Coronavirus pandemic which has led to the death of no fewer than 17,000 people across the globe.

The dreaded pandemic code-named COVID-19 broke out early this month in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province in China, and has since spread through all the major countries and continents of the world leading to lockdowns in several cities and a gradual collapse of global economies. In Nigeria, the pandemic has recorded one death while no fewer than 42 cases have been indexed.

Justifying its company’s lead campaign on safety and Health Awareness Campaign on the pandemic, Managing Director of Plural Media, Mr. Uduak Bassey said: “Plural Media embarked on this noble campaign solely to save lives”, adding that “as a responsible corporate citizen, we have no choice than to live responsibly”.

He stated further that being a responsible corporate citizen has been the hallmark of Plural Media’s modus operandi. Bassey said the company has always been consistent in “delivering visible happiness” with relevant out-of-home communication messaging to Nigerians across all her points of presence.

Besides, he stated that “getting involved in this campaign is of utmost importance to us as the entire globe is at the threshold of a major calamity, thereby all hands are required and expected to be on deck. It must be general and collective survival before business. We should ensure that we survive this pandemic together so that the world can be good and safe for us for business”.

To its credit, the agency continuously challenges the status quo in the OOH advertising space by offering its clients innovative, targeted and high impact advertising media that has been dynamic in content delivery and setting standards in breaking news, weather and daily major currencies’ exchange rate reports.

In his own comments, the Group Managing Director of Invent Media, Mr. Kunle Adesina said the initiative to be part of Public awareness campaign on this deadly virus was borne out of his organisation’s genuine and sincere love for the people. He stated that the way the pandemic has been spreading across the globe, it is important to ensure proper and massive education of the general public. This, he hinted has prompted his organisation to lend support as it always does whenever the needs arise.

Similarly, founder of Loatsad Promomedia, Mr. Seyi Tinubu has commenced public information campaign on Coronavirus in West Africa in partnership with Noella Foundation.

He disclosed that his group had commenced the use of significant segment of its digital billboards to disseminate critical information and public education campaign to support efforts aimed at combating the spread of Coronavirus.

Some banks too have set up precautionary measures against the spread of COVID-19 as their customers were being made to observe safety protocols before gaining access into their banking halls.

A non-governmental organisation, Justice Development and Peace Commission has begun mass sensitisation of communities in some parts of the country. The two-in one programme was geared toward teaching people how to stay safe and healthy in the season of a global pandemic like COVID-19.
