In line with plans to reposition the marketing profession in Nigeria and set it at par with best global standards, the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, NIMN is set to unveil its new tech platform which will drive the operations of the Institute and manage the affairs of the body electronically.

The test-running of the platform, which will also enable members of the institute to have easy access to information and updates with regards to membership status will commence from today till Monday, February 20th, 2023.

Access to the membership portal will only be granted to financial members with effect from March 1st after which payment of dues will be a requirement to log in on the platform.

This was disclosed by the President and Chairman of Council, Mr. Idorenyen Enang during the last town hall meeting which held virtually where he stated that the new initiative is aimed to automate the activities of the Institute and drive inclusiveness for members.

“For a long time, we have struggled. We have been on manuals. We are not even able to send notes to you to tell you your dues are due. We don’t have a platform to see it through. Last year, we began to look at different opportunities. I had a privilege to sit with several vendors and at the end of the day, we found a solution that meets our current state, where we are and that is being put together by our very distinguished fellows who have worked with several organisations that have done the same. He pitched and was able to match where we are in the interim and help us grow.

“Going forward, it will be very easy for us to manage our membership database and the affairs of the institute either through the web or our phones and this is just the beginning” he said.

According to him, members can pay their subscription fees on their portals, register and pay for training as well as access and share valuable information via their portal adding that only financial members will be able access the platform once it is launched.

According to E-metrics Suite, the solution provider, the membership activity and operation management portal is built to facilitate interaction between members to members and secretariat to members and vice- versa as well as communication within the Institute including activities going on in the different clusters of the Institute. Members can manage their affairs with the institute on the portal.

Members are required to update their records on the portal which can be accessed on the NIMN website or through a mobile app that can be downloaded from Google play store.
