NIMN members to converge in Ibadan for 2016 AGM

The National Institute of Marketers of Nigeria (NIMN) will hold this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Ibadan, from Novermber17 -18, 2016, according to the President of the Institute, Aare Ganiyu Koledoye.

The planned AGM will usher in a new dawn for the Institute as a new President and council members will be elected. Koledoye has maintained his initial position not to contest for re-election even though he is qualified for it.

The NIMN AGM represents a new milestone for the Institute which is still undergoing a healing process, following years of rancour and bitterness among members who were pitched into rival camps, each having its own independent executive.

But over the years, following peaceful overtures by Koledoye, who was President of one of the factions, the body has been united and the bond between members have been strenghtened. Also, normanl activities have since resumed in the body’s academic arm, which is the premier certifcation body for professional marketers in Nigeria.

Forms for members who are intereted in contesting for elective posts into the NIMN executive council are already out as announced by the Institute’s electoral body. The election will hold on November18 , the final day of the AGM.

NIMN is the body for marketing professionals engaged in marketing and related fields as marketing practitioners, sales and marketing directors, customer service managers, relationship directors, media planners, channel developers, creative directors, value builders, brand builders, enterprise builders, corporate and institutional governors, transformers, marketing and mass communication experts, general managers, chief executive officers, etc.

The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria is established by act of parliament (Act no 2003) of the National Assembly to regulate marketers and marketing practice in Nigeria.
