NGE Convention 2021 holds still
The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has said that its planned Convention 2021 will hold despite the new Covid-19 pandemic restrictions unveiled by the Nigerian government on Monday.
The Convention will hold as scheduled in Kano, in strict compliance with Covid-19 protocols.
To ensure that the convention complies fully with the Covid-19 protocols, the Guild is liaising with the Kano State Covid-19 Committee for pre-emptive safety measures to safeguard the health of members.
According to a statement signed by Mary Atolage, the NGE General Secretary, efforts are in place to guarantee the safety of participants as “the Nigerian Army, Police, DSS and Civil Defence Corps have been mobilised to guarantee security of members”.
She emphasised that members are assured of adequate security right from the airport to the hotels and the venue of the convention.
