Nestle Nigeria dissociates itself from unpackaged product

Nestle Nigeria, one of the largest manufacturing companies in the country’s Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, has dissociated itself from the unpackaged product making the rounds in the market.
Dropping the hint last recently, Victoria Uwadoka, Manager of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, Nestle Nigeria told journalists attending a training programme organised by the food company at the Lagos Business School that such unpackaged products could not have come from its stable.
According to Victoria,”Nestle Nigeria’s attention has been drawn to some people purportedly selling some products in the open market and boldly advertising them on social media in the name of the brand.
“Audaciously we got samples of these products and we found out that they were not our products. The unbranded ones they sell in bags or buckets are not Nestle products, but they have been presented as our products. So, we need to let people know that these are not the products that they say they are.”
On actions taken by Nestle to put a stop to the menace, she said: “We have reported the case to National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) because NAFDAC has the mechanism in place to check this, and they have investigated and came back to us with what they have been able to find out.”
“Nestle has never packaged its product in any other way apart from what has been advertised or what has been displayed. If you see any product that is not packaged in our popularly known package, it’s s not our product. Every Nestle product is branded Nestle, and we are planning to do more awareness on this,” she stated.
