MTN Nigeria welcomes new directors to bolster board expertise

MTN Nigeria has introduced three new directors to its board, aiming to strengthen governance and steer the company towards continued growth. The appointments, disclosed in a regulatory filing on the Nigerian Exchange, highlight the company’s commitment to leveraging diverse professional insights to drive innovation and strategic direction.
The telecoms leader confirmed the addition of a seasoned transformation strategist, an agribusiness investment specialist, and an experienced corporate finance expert to its leadership team. These appointments signal a renewed focus on achieving milestones aligned with the organization’s objectives and vision.
Making clarifications on the appointments, the brand said one of the appointees brings over two decades of global expertise in transformative leadership and policy advisory. She has successfully worked across multiple sectors in Africa, collaborating with regulators, institutions, and investors to design and implement growth strategies.
Her professional journey includes leadership roles in digital transformation and financial inclusion initiatives. With an extensive understanding of Sub-Saharan Africa’s financial systems, she has spearheaded impactful programs that have reshaped banking practices and promoted economic inclusion.
It added that another director offers extensive knowledge in private equity and investment strategy, with nearly three decades of experience in driving transactions and mergers across diverse industries. His efforts have advanced capital deployment in the food and agriculture sectors, with a focus on sustainability and economic impact. He has also played a pivotal role in nurturing the impact investing ecosystem, lending his expertise to advisory boards and championing transformative projects in the agricultural value chain.
The third appointee, it stated, came with a robust background in telecommunications and corporate finance, brings a wealth of international experience from leadership positions at major global firms. His tenure as a financial executive includes overseeing complex mergers, acquisitions, and operational transformations. Known for his strategic acumen, he has contributed to reshaping telecom operations across continents, steering companies through critical transitions and securing competitive advantages in dynamic markets.
