MTN Nigeria has once again demonstrated its leadership in the telecom sector with the construction of a state-of-the-art data center, showcasing its commitment to technological innovation and industry advancement.
The leading and giant network provider has set a new benchmark in telecom sector with a cutting-edge data center.
Karl Toriola, CEO/MD of MTN Nigeria, revealed the development of this cutting-edge facility on his LinkedIn page.
Accompanied by CFO Modupe Kadiri and CTO Mohammed Rufai, Toriola visited the data center, which is currently under construction, highlighting MTN’s relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation.
The new data center, featuring an impressive 1,500 racks and boasting a Tier 4 certification, is set to become the largest of its kind in West Africa.
Designed with a 7-degree transmission capability, it promises exceptional connectivity and scalability, positioning MTN Nigeria at the forefront of technological advancements in the region.
Karl Toriola’s visionary leadership has been instrumental in driving this milestone project. Since taking the helm in 2021, Toriola has championed initiatives that push the boundaries of what is possible in the telecom industry.

“This impressive facility boasts 1,500 racks, the highest-level certification – Tier 4, and a 7-degree transmission, making it capable of delivering exceptional connectivity; expandable, and the largest in West Africa upon completion.

The data center’s eco-friendly design, utilizing efficient cooling systems and a mix of traditional, gas, and renewable energy sources, underscores MTN’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
