Dozie Okafor is the Managing Director of PHD Nigeria; a subsidiary of a global communications planning and media buying agency network which delivers smart strategic thinking and creative innovation for the world’s leading brands.
Mr. Okafor was appointed the Managing Director of the agency in 2016 by PHD West Africa to oversee the business in Nigeria and in other West African countries after the resignation of the former Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Adisa.
He specialises in media strategy and planning with his career spanning about 12 years in media buying and planning industry.
Mr. Okafor started his career at OMD Nigeria in 2007.
He is a trained electrical engineer from the University of Nigeria and also an alumnus of the Lagos Business School.
He has worked at both OMD Nigeria and OMD Ghana across numerous brands. He then moved to PHD Nigeria to serve for 5 years as the pioneer Head of Strategy and Planning.
Most recently, he served as the IMC lead for Coca-Cola Nigeria, West Africa Business Unit where he managed Regional Integrated Marketing Communication and Media/Assets Development.
Mr. Okafor returned to PHD Nigeria in June 2017 as Managing Director and looks sure to reinforce its success.
Since his assumption of office as the Managing Director of PHD Nigeria, he has repositioned the agency on a pedestal of success amongst its peers in the global organisation.
With his visionary leadership, PHD Nigeria was able to break into the top 10 for the first time, rather audaciously, at the 6th position based on the official ranking of country teams in the network released at the end of Q1 2017 from usage data for nearly 4,000 of PHD’s staff in its offices across the globe.
‘Finding a better way’ is the agency’s ethos and sums up how it approaches everything – from a new client brief to the way it works.
Some of PHD’s clients in Nigeria are Ovaltine, 9ame, Apple, Huawei, Moet Henessy amongst others.

Omnicom Media Group topped the 2016 Major Wins report from the Research Company Evaluating the Media Agency Industry (RECMA), ranking the net new business balance of wins and departures during the past year.
