McCann London has appointed Jemima Monies as Chief Operating Officer, a newly created role which will be effective early 2023.
Monies will oversee a range of operational business areas and joins McCann London’s management team. She is the first executive leadership appointment made by the CEO Polly McMorrow since joining the agency in April 2022.
she brings a track record of notable industry success and expertise to McCann, joining adam & eveDDB where she is currently Director of Marketing and Operations, having rapidly progressed from New Business Director (2013) and Deputy MD (2018). During her nine-year tenure at the agency, she played a key role in helping the agency double in size, winning five Campaign Agency of the Year and Agency campaigner of the decade in 2019. She previously worked at J Walter Thompson (now Wunderman Thompson) and MCBD. Before joining the advertising industry, she worked as a journalist for Campaign’s former sister title, Marketing.
Commenting on the appointment, Polly McMorrow said: “I am beyond thrilled to have Jemima join us. Her mercurial sense of how to get the best out of people, processes, and the industry as a whole is something I admire from afar. I think she is going to have a big impact on our business and that of our customers”.
Also, Chris Macdonald, McCann’s Global CEO, said that: “The strength of our London office is critical to our global clients, and it has an enviable track record of creativity that drives our clients’ businesses and brands. We’re thrilled with Polly’s impact since joining earlier this year and, together with Rob and Lolly, the team is building a creative culture where the best talent in the industry wants to live, work and thrive. Jemima is a fantastic addition to the agency, and I can’t wait to see what they will accomplish together in 2023.”
On her part, Monies said, “adam&eveDDB is an incredibly hard place to leave. I feel privileged to have worked with some of the best talent in the industry, who will be friends for life, and who have learned and celebrated more than I could have ever imagined. However, after nine years, I am curious to see how I can make an impact in a different business environment. I am very excited to work with the brilliant team at McCann as they build a future-ready creative agency and I look forward to being part of the team that will lead the agency to further success as we are embarking on an exciting adventure. Next chapter.”
