Lagos NIPR unveils digital journal

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Lagos State Chapter has unveiled the Digital PR Digest Journal as a way to help PR practitioners navigate the gale of digitisation. The unveiling took place at L’eola Hotel Lagos during the seventh edition of the Digital PR Summit, held.
Commenting on the initiative, Segun Mcmedal, a former Chairman of the Chapter stated that the Digital PR digest is a newly registered journal for the institute and the idea behind it is to continue to add value, engage, and have access to different channels where we are comfortable to reach our audience.
“The digital PR summit started eight years ago when I was the chairman of the AGM committee of NIPR Lagos State Chapter, we had one session which was called the Summit. The idea came because we saw a lacuna among practitioners as we are not leveraging the social media space. So we decided to bring in faculty who are knowledgeable in this space to pass the message, to teach us to be better and to continue improving.”
“Prior to this edition, we used to have a brochure but we noticed that after the event we don’t make use of this brochure we just dump them. So we have to come up with the idea of this Digital PR Digest Journal so that at the end of the Summit people can have something to read and share among others”.
The PR digest is poised to help readers succeed, take the practice to unprecedented heights, and help members improve their profile online using best-impact storytelling.
Isreal Jaiye – Opayemi, President, Public Relation Consultant Association of Nigeria (PRCAN) pledged to support the initiative of the Digital PR digest journal and make sure it becomes established.
