Industry leaders highlight takeaways from ADVAN Industry Dialogue

Following the enriching experiences garnered at the just concluded Industry Dialogue 2024, hosted by the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN), some notable industry leaders have highlighted the key takeaways derived from diverse case studies explored by speakers at the event.
They called on stakeholders to champion policies that prioritize symbiotic collaborations and ethical practices to foster an ecosystem with long-term growth.
The industry dialogue which was held in Maryland, Lagos, provided a platform for insightful discussions and the sharing of valuable insights with the theme: “Public/Private Collaboration in the Marketing Industry: The Path to Economic Viability”.
Omotola Bamigbaiye Elatuyi, the Marketing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa at Pladis Global, reflected on the significance of inclusive collaboration as a key takeaway from the dialogue. Elatuyi stressed the importance of stakeholders’ involvement in shaping policies, emphasizing that effective collaboration can lead to policies that enhance rather than hinder industry growth.
Chibuike Goodnews, founder of Scrola.co & Dochase Adx Limited, echoed Elatuyi’s take, highlighting the need for balanced regulation within the advertising industry. Goodnews emphasized that regulations should not stifle industry growth but should instead provide clear guidelines and encourage responsible practices among practitioners.
Femi Adelusi, President of the Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN), emphasized the necessity for comprehensive dialogue within the industry. Adelusi emphasized the importance of diverse perspectives in finding innovative solutions to industry challenges and advocated for a collaborative approach in addressing regulatory issues, especially concerning the uniqueness of the diverse platforms.
Samuel Akinrimisi, Deputy Marketing Director at CWAY, expressed optimism over the outcome of the dialogue, emphasizing why stakeholders should collaborate. Akinrimisi highlighted the need for improved relationships among clients, agencies, and regulators to overcome industry challenges and foster growth.
The Industry Dialogue provided a platform for practitioners to share insights and experiences, paving the way for collaborative efforts aimed at driving sustainable growth and innovation within Nigeria’s marketing industry.
