In a heartfelt gesture that touched the lives of many, Goonite Hygiene, makers of Besense Sanitary Pads and Lebrace Baby Diapers, extended their love and care to the Apollo Community in Makoko, Yaba, Lagos.

Led by John Jiang, Managing Director of Goonite Hygiene, the company made a significant impact on the lives of women, young girls, and mothers, providing essential hygiene products as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Through this act of love, Goonite Hygiene said it is determined to leave an indelible mark in the hearts of those it serves, not just by offering quality products, but by nurturing a relationship built on care, trust, and shared humanity.

Speaking during the visit at the Baale’s palace, Jiang expressed his deep connection to the cause. “It’s an honor to be here in Makoko, and even more so to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these women and children. We understand the challenges they face in maintaining proper hygiene, and today’s donation is our way of showing them that they are not alone. They deserve care, protection, and access to quality products that prevent diseases and offer comfort.”

John Jiang emphasized the importance of nurturing feminine hygiene and the role that quality products play in maintaining health.

The Apollo Community often referred to as the “Venice of Africa” due to its unique waterways, welcomed the Goonite team with open arms. Hundreds of residents came out in their numbers, celebrating the brand’s dedication to their health. Women and young girls expressed their joy, particularly as they received the Besense sanitary pads, which have become a beacon of reliability, providing them with comfort during their most challenging times.

He further emphasized that the company’s commitment to quality is unwavering, sourcing the best raw materials from the USA and Europe to create products that excel in absorbency, bacteria prevention, and comfort.

“One of the key messages of the day was that Besense is more than just a sanitary pad; it’s a personal superhero. We want the femalefolk here to see Besense as their protector, offering them comfort and confidence whenever they need it.”

The Baale of the Apollo Community, Ogungbure Orioye Jephter, expressed deep gratitude to Goonite Hygiene for their timely and selfless act. He prayed for the sustainable growth of the company, encouraging them to continue their remarkable work and extend their support to other areas of the community’s needs.

“This is a rare act of kindness, and we are deeply grateful. In times like these, many families struggle even to buy food, let alone hygiene products. This gesture comes as a blessing to our people, especially the women who often bear the brunt of health challenges due to poor hygiene.”

Jiang also highlighted the brand’s ongoing efforts across Nigeria and Africa, revealing that they have carried out over 2,000 NGO campaigns, impacting lives in all 36 states of Nigeria, including the Federal Capital, Abuja. He recalled similar campaigns in Yaba, where the company donated Lebrace Baby Diapers and Besense pads to young girls at the historic and prestigious Queen’s College, promoting healthier habits and hygiene awareness.

“We don’t see this as the end; Makoko is the beginning of a new series of charitable activities across Nigeria and Africa,” Jiang concluded, reaffirming the company’s dedication to giving back to communities and creating lasting positive change.

Goonite Hygiene’s mission to provide top-tier hygiene products, made with high-quality wood pulp and super absorbent polymers, stands out in a competitive market. Jiang proudly stated that the brand’s unique selling point is its unwavering commitment to quality and consumer well-being. “It’s not just about making business sense; it’s about making life better for our consumers.”

For the women and mothers in Apollo, the day was more than just a donation event, it was a reminder that they deserve the very best care, and brands like Goonite Hygiene are here to ensure they receive it.
