Snoop Dogg, a celebrity rapper and popular weed enthusiast, said his social media comment about “giving up smoke” was a teaser for Solo Stove commercial.
Solo Stove, renowned for its smokeless fire pit, unveiled a surprising partnership with Snoop Dogg, appointing the rapper as its official “smokesman,” as per a recent press release. This announcement followed a seemingly ambiguous social media post by Snoop Dogg earlier this month, where he hinted at “giving up smoke,” a move that turned out to be a teaser for the collaboration with Solo Brands.
Contrary to the assumptions about his legendary cannabis use, Snoop Dogg’s cryptic post, made in consultation with his family, was actually a prelude to working with the Solo Stove product. According to statements, the Solo Stove enables Snoop Dogg to relish a fire pit experience minus the discomfort of coughing or having his clothes retain the distinct smell.
This collaboration marks Solo Stove’s maiden large-scale national marketing initiative, encompassing a 30-second broadcast spot in addition to social media, podcast, out-of-home, and digital elements, as reported by Ad Age. The campaign’s creative development was undertaken by The Martin Agency.
Under the partnership, Snoop Dogg will not only collaborate on product innovation but will also contribute to the design of a personalized line of Solo Stove goods. A limited-edition bundle, currently available for $349.99, features a bonfire fire pit designed by Snoop, accompanied by a fire pit stand, bucket hat, and sticker pack.
Solo Brands CEO John Merris expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We’re thrilled to have a product that enticed Snoop to go smokeless.” Emphasizing Solo Stove’s aim of fostering connections, Merris added, “Solo Stove is all about bringing people together, creating a vibe that encourages relaxation and enjoyment of time spent with loved ones.”
Snoop Dogg, known for his involvement with various brands, has embarked on numerous brand ambassadorships throughout his career. In 2023 alone, he has collaborated with several major brands including Grubhub, Corona, Jack in the Box, and BIC, wherein the latter campaign coincided with the cannabis celebration day, 4/20, involving a virtual scavenger hunt and out-of-home activations.
