Measured, visionary, and deeply people-oriented, Femi Obong-Daniels represents the future of thoughtful leadership in Nigerian broadcasting. As General Manager of Cool FM, Wazobia FM, Nigeria Info FM, Kids FM and Arewa Radio, Kano, Femi has quietly but powerfully shaped some of the country’s most influential radio experiences.

With a broadcasting career spanning three decades, Femi Obong-Daniels has become a well-known voice and force in Nigerian sports media. He started out at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) as a student broadcaster in the mid 90s before returning to the network fully in 2001, after successful stints at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS; 1996-99) and Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC; 1999-2001) before joining Cool FM in 2010, where he would go on to make his mark as Femi of “Femi & The Gang”, the signature sports broadcast that became a national sensation.

Femi leads with empathy. Internally, he is trusted for his openness, calm demeanour, and strong values rooted in his Christian faith. He’s the kind of leader who gives people chances, listens deeply, and builds environments where ideas and individuals can grow.

He is also a firm believer in the power of media to transform society. From student debate initiatives like I Beg To Differ to football fan competitions that launch the careers of young pundits, Femi continuously uses media as a bridge between generations, sectors, and stories.

His podcast, Outside the Box, reflects the heart of his approach: intelligent conversation, open dialogue, and the courage to explore what others overlook. In every sense, Femi Obong-Daniels is a builder of platforms, people, and possibility.
