Feed Tonight Foundation rewards entrepreneur Omotosho with N1million
Feed Tonight Foundation, an entrepreneurial initiative of Culture Communication, rewarded Olawale Omotosho, a 26-year old graduate with a cash prize of N1million (check) to boost his business. Omotosho emerged winner out of 50 entrepreneurs that submitted their business proposals. He deals in fabrics that goes with the brand name, Flair Underwear. He makes men’s boxers and has other team members working with him.
Speaking at the check presentation ceremony, Managing Director Yomi Benson at Culture Communication Limited said every entrepreneur has dreams and vision with great ideas that will take the world by storm. He, however, noted that 99% of these dreams and vision usually die because they do not get capital and proper business funding in the long run.
“So many ideas are dying due to the financial challenges the youths and the elders are having, and as a way of giving back to the society we implored the prospects to come with a N1million cost analysis and also with their expectations.
“As a way of giving back to the community, Culture Communication has made this pitch to help those that have business ideas and the only challenge is the capital. It is tagged “Feed Tonight Foundation Entrepreneurship Program” and there was about 50 entries after a thorough screening. 10 proposals were shortlisted and were invited for their presentation of which one person was singled out as the beneficiary of N1million,” he said.
He continued: “We need people to get to a higher position and we need to help each other out. We are the people that make up the economy of the country, so we must be our brothers keeper. We see this as a transition from nothing to something. The intent is not just empowering people but to also challenge people out there to help the less privileged with their little substantial funds.”
“Making people to have access to funds is our priority at Culture Communication. At least, N1million can change life.”
The winner, Omotosho started nursing the idea after his service year as a young corps member. He realised through research that he could make something with his final service allowance and went ahead to make a comfortable underwear. Currently, his design is a made-in-Nigeria brand of boxers with over 180 distributors in various institutions as they continue to gain entries into the Nigerian market.
While expressing his gratitude, Omotosho said: “I’m glad beyond measures and if I’m given another opportunity, I will still do more.”
