The Team Conference 2024, organised by Team Building International, brought together industry experts and thought leaders to discuss the crucial role of team building in achieving sustainable organisational success.
During the just concluded event, focused on the theme “Leveraging Team Building for Sustainable Organisational Success”, renowned talk service provider, Richmond Osuji, emphasised on the need for team building in today’s rapidly changing work environment.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed the way we work, with remote and hybrid models becoming the new normal. To thrive, organizations must adapt and prioritize team building,” Osuji stated.
As the conference moderator, Osuji underscored the importance of investing in capacity building to drive better results and satisfactory bottom-line performance. He highlighted the significance of team spirit, organization culture, and structure in enhancing staff performance and overall organizational success.
“Effective teams are more cohesive, leading to improved efficiency and effectiveness. While the impact on the bottom line may not be quantifiable in monetary terms, the team players’ spirit and collaboration will ultimately reflect in the organization’s performance,” he explained.
Addressing common challenges faced by companies, Osuji identified difficulties in finding the right team members and overcoming resistance from decision-makers or influential individuals who trivialized team building.
“Overcoming these challenges requires a strategic approach to team building, leadership buy-in, and a culture that fosters collaboration and open communication,” he advised.
The conference featured interactive sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, providing attendees with valuable insights and practical strategies for building high-performing teams.
