EXMAN seeks more relevance with APCON membership

Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria (EXMAN), may become a member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) in 2017. The association which is the umbrella body for experiential marketers in Nigeria said it has concluded plans to secured APCON membership.

President of EXMAN Dr. Rotimi Olaniyan said recently that joining APCON will give the association a voice and make the body an influential part of the Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) Industry.

Olaniyan while speaking on some of the industry issues noted that it was necessary for the association to align itself with APCON because of the benefits it will derive. Olaniyan added that APCON membership will afford the association the necessary legal backbone to push through with some of its reforms and sanitisation effort.

One of such sanitisation effort is the planned introduction of rate card next year which will be binding on members of EXMAN. The rate card EXMAN says will establish uniform rates and bring sanity to the profession.

“We are hoping to get into APCON so that we can be able to demonstrate our influence and boost our recognition in the industry,” He said.

EXMAN was formed four years ago to as a function of the rapid growth in the experiential marketing industry in Nigeria in the last. The industry which was reported to be worth N30billion in 2015 has however lost some steam this year as a result of the recession.
