Airtel Nigeria retains MediaReach for media buying
MediaReach has been retained as Airtel Nigeria’s media buying agency. The agency got the approval to continue on the multi-million naira account after a very competitive global pitch process that was held in March 2016.
According to sources close to the transaction, the account was competed for among top media agencies in Nigeria, including Ogilvy Africa and Capital Media among other agencies.
The scope of the lucrative Airtel account covers major markets in the sub-region including Nigeria, Ghana and Cameroun. MediaReach already has offices in each of these three markets.
MediaReach is now tasked with optimizing Airtel Nigeria’s media and marketing communications across all channels and to assist in meeting key marketing and business objectives for the brand through cutting-edge integrated marketing communications ideas and deployment for at least another one year.
MediaReach is one of the largest media agency networks in West and Central Africa. The agency which was established in 1999 is focused on developing & providing world class media planning and buying services to leading international clients across the sub-region.
Within eighteen months of operation, MediaReach OMD championed the launch of media planning data & tools. Some of the proprietary tools launched and still in use today include ESPRI and Media Star for effective and efficient media plans.
Since 2003, MediaReach OMD has also undertaken the publication of the West & Central African Media Facts Book – an industry accepted data collection book about the West & Central African advertising scene and the only manual for media advertising information in the regions.
The agency became affiliated with OMD, the global media advertising company of Omnicom in 2003. Omnicom is one of the world’s largest marketing communications networks, with offices in over 80 countries
