Lafarge Africa appoints Oyebode Chairman board of directors

Lafarge Africa Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. Gbenga Oyebode, MFR as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors.
The company made this known on Thursday in a statement posted on its verified LinkedIn page.
With this appointment, Oyebode is expected to bring to the position his over 42 years of experience in legal, corporate governance, and business operations.
A co-founder of ALN – Aluko & Oyebode Nigeria, one of the largest integrated law firms in Nigeria, Oyebode holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and a Master of Laws from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
Since he was appointed to the Board of Lafarge Africa Plc on April 8, 2020, Oyebode has been demonstrating a commitment to excellence and strategic oversight.
His sprawling experience includes serving on the boards of notable local and international organizations, such as MTN Nigeria Plc, where he was a board member from 2001 to 2019. He is currently a Trustee of the Ford Foundation, New York and chairs several prominent companies, including Nestle Nigeria Plc, Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc, and CFAO Nigeria. Notably, he was the Chairman of Access Bank from 2005 to 2015.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the legal profession and business sector, Mr. Oyebode was conferred with the prestigious Member of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (MFR) in 2000.
