ADVAN set to redefine advertising with Industry Dialogue
By Felicia Nwosu
As part of efforts to promote collaboration and business growth between industry players and government parastatals through an enabling regulatory business environment, the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) will be organizing its annual industry conversation known as 2022 ADVAN Industry Dialogue. The event is tagged, “The Role of Government Regulations in the Ease of Doing Business in Nigeria” and is designed to redefine the marketing and advertising business landscape in Nigeria.
According to the organisers, it is an exclusive platform for discussing issues affecting the marketing community in Nigeria. The industry dialogue is set to hold on Wednesday, 22 June, 2022, at Radisson Blu, Ikeja, Lagos.
Osamede Uwubanwmen, the President of ADVAN and Regional Vice President, Africa, World Federation of Advertisers (WFA), while underscoring the need for the dialogue, said the event will pull stakeholders in Nigeria’s business ecosystem together, including regulators such as the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) and many others together.
According to the ADVAN president, the platform will serve as an avenue to meet minds, proffer solutions and chart the way forward for Nigeria’s marketing business in a more lucrative and enabling atmosphere and make it thrive better and stronger.
Mr. Uwubanwmen noted that the association will be holding a Press Conference next week to acquaint the media on details as plans for the event unfold.
“We usually have it annually as an industry dialogue where we bring experts together to come and discuss the way forward, but it was interrupted by COVID-19. The last edition was held in 2019. There will be a press conference next week in view of that and we will have speakers across various sectors of the economy who will be sensitizing and enlightening our members on certain issues. We are regulated by other people like NAFDAC, SON and others, so our members will be asking questions and finding reasons why there are some sorts of delay in getting their products registered and many other issues as well,” he said.
ADVAN is in vanguard of influencing necessary changes in the nation’s marketing space. It was founded in 1992 to advance the interest of the marketing industry in Nigeria by spearheading and ensuring global best practices as well as facilitating collaborative partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
