Mixed reactions trail return of Gulder Ultimate Search

Following the return of the biggest survival reality show, “Gulder Ultimate Search” after seven years of being off the screen, fans of the show have expressed excitement and uncertainty as the country continues to fight insecurity.
Speaking about the show, Jennifer Joseph, a young entrepreneur and a fan of the show said: “The show is quite interesting and educational. There is a lot you learn about life learning how to overcome obstacles and challenges. I am glad the show has returned. But at this point, I think they need to be careful because we all know the country isn’t safe right now.”
Expressing so much enthusiasm, an avid fan of the show, Olamide Sadiq Alhassan said: “Gulder Ultimate Search has always been a game I’ve looked forward to since childhood and it felt like a shattered dream when they took a break. Seeing it back on screens brought a lot of Joy to my heart.”
Speaking about the impact of the show, she noted that “It’s a game that breeds and projects the truest of warriors. Not just physical warriors but warriors at heart. Looking through the selection process you’d realize that it’s about the survival of the fittest. It is quite unpredictable and highly educational. No disqualified candidate will ever remain the same.”
Beaming with smiles, she added: “As always, Gulder has brought yet again their premium game and this year, it’s a notch higher. It leaves us wondering who will be the 12th Ultimate Man or Woman.”
Remi Emidun, another fan of the show said: “Gulder Ultimate Search was one of my favourite shows back then. I had always looked forward to the suspense. The tough games and the sad part are when my favourite person is leaving the game. I also love the critical thinking and the educative part of the show. Everybody in my family loves the show.”
She lamented the security situation in the country and wondered if the organizers put that into consideration.
The Gulder Ultimate Search, which began in 2004, ran 11 consecutive seasons before taking a break in 2014. It premiered on October 16, 2021 seven years after with the theme: ‘Age of Craftsmanship’. This season has 18 contestants who will be tested based on their physical and intellectual abilities as well as teamwork. The contestants will be spending nine weeks in the jungle as they compete to become the Ultimate champion.
MultiChoice has revealed that the show will stream on three channels, Africa Magic Showcase, Africa Magic Urban and Africa Magic Family from October 16, 2021 and will continue to air every Saturday and Sunday night till December 19, 2021.
