Ufot charges IMC practitioners on building professional career

Udeme Ufot, Group Managing Director of SO&U, has charged the Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) industry practitioners on achieving professional goals as he explained things to keep in mind while embarking on their career.

Stating this on his LinkedIn page, Mr. Ufot noted that building a career in marketing communications can be both rewarding and challenging but with the right mindset and approach, practitioners can excel in their chosen field and achieve professional goals.

“Develop strong writing skills, excellent writing skills are critical in marketing communications. You’ll be responsible for creating content that captures the attention of your target audience and communicates your brand’s message effectively. Take writing classes, read widely, and practice writing regularly to hone your skills,” he said.

According to the co-founder of SO&U Limited, practitioners need to stay current with industry trends as marketing communication is a fast-paced industry, and staying up-to-date with the latest trends is crucial. “Attend conferences, read industry publications and network with other professionals to stay informed about the latest best practices and innovations.”

He further stressed that creativity is key in marketing communications, noting that practitioners need to come up with fresh and innovative ideas to help their brand stand out from the competition. “Keep an open mind and don’t be afraid to take risks and try new approaches.”

Continuing, he said: “Understand your target audience: Effective marketing communications requires a deep understanding of your target audience. Conduct market research, analyse data, and use customer feedback to develop a clear understanding of your audience’s needs, preferences, and behaviours.

“Collaborate with others, successful marketing communications requires collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, including designers, copywriters, and project managers. Develop strong communication and collaboration skills, and work closely with your colleagues to ensure that your marketing communications campaigns are effective and on-brand.”
