Truck Transit Park Limited (TTP) has unveiled plans to expand its innovative Eto Call-Up System beyond Apapa port.

The company intends to extend the system to a network of trailer parks and logistics hubs across 24 states in Nigeria.

This ambitious plan came to light during a recent press parley at TTP’s Apapa office.

Managing Director Highlights Growing Demand

According to Mr. Jamal Onwubuariri, Managing Director of TTP, “Our technology can be deployed in a number of different scenarios and different situations.

We’re speaking to 24 state governments who have traffic management issues, so our hands are really very busy.”

He revealed that TTP is also working on a regional plan to establish rest stops for truckers along the Lagos-Abidjan Corridor, targeting countries within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

Eto Call-Up System Delivers Proven Results

The Eto Call-Up System has reduced traffic congestion at Apapa port, saving the nation \$1.7 million annually.

Onwubuariri explained that the traffic congestion in Apapa had previously caused a staggering N2.5 trillion annual loss to the nation.

Since its launch in 2021, the Eto system has successfully scheduled over 3 million truck trips, drastically reduced gridlock, and improved truck and cargo turnaround time.

A Model for Regional Integration

Onwubuariri emphasized that the Eto system serves not just as a national solution but as a scalable regional model.

He stated, “Imagine if every ECOWAS country operated a harmonized port truck scheduling.

Also, this includes rest stop, and electronic tolling system that supports the multiple currencies used in the region, as well as how much faster goods would move.

Even so, how much cheaper trade would become, and how much closer we would be to realizing the promise of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).”

Commitment to Intra-African Trade

Furthermore, TTP has committed to collaborating with regional governments and stakeholders to deploy technology that will make seamless intra-African trade a reality.

“TTP stands ready to play in that space, to collaborate with ECOWAS and support regional governments in deploying technology that will make seamless intra-African trade not just a vision, but a reality,” Onwubuariri stated.
