Society of Nigerian Broadcasters commences capacity building

In line with its mandate to ensure high professionalism in the broadcast industry, the newly inaugurated Society of Nigerian Broadcasters, SNB has announced its first training programme for inducted members of the association.
This is coming after the association inducted its first set of members in December, 2022 where it harped on continuous capacity building to reposition the broadcast industry in Nigeria.
According to a statement signed by the Executive Secretary, BON/Coordinator, SNB, Usman Umar Bello, due to the prevailing economic situation, the training program has been decentralized into five zones to enable members attend with ease.
They include, North Central, Abuja, Tuesday, March 14th 2023 at Hawthorn Suites Area 11, Garki Abuja; Kano, Monday, March 27, 2023 at ARTV station; Lagos, March, 21, 2023 at Radio Lagos/Eko FM Hall; South West, Thursday, March 23, 2023 venue to be communicated while South – South/South East, Port-Harcourt, venue and date also to be communicated.
The statement adds that the training will feature renowned and astute professionals from both the academia and within the industry who will share their knowledge, experience and equip participants with the required capabilities and professional skills.
“It is expected that at the end of the event, members will be able to professionally utilize the knowledge acquired in order to raise the ethical standard of broadcasting in their organization” the statement reads.
SNB members are required to come to the venue of the training program with evidence or payment of induction fee, muffler and batch pin of SNB while yet to be inducted members are to obtain a membership form of the association and register for the workshop.
“The workshop/ training committee has accepted that yet to be inducted member who is interested in participating should register with subsidized fee of ten thousand Naira only for the workshop. However, such member must have obtained the Society’s membership form and must come to the venue of the workshop with evidence of payment”.
Recall that the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters was recently inaugurated as a professional body for broadcasters saddled with the responsibility of upholding the tenets of broadcasting through training and re-training of broadcasters in Nigeria.
