PRCAN organizes Fireside Chat to prepare operators for growth in 2018
The Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN) is set to organize a Fireside Chat designed to prepare the Public Relations Industry for the business opportunities in 2018, and properly positions its operators for projected economic growth.
The Fireside Chat with the theme:”Macro-economic Factors That Will Impact the Nigerian Marketing Communications Industry in 2018” is set to hold on December 13, 2017 at The Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event is expected to help PR professionals to learn about the various dynamics in the macro-economic sector as well as enable them to prepare themselves to harness the gains of next year’s projected growth.
The President, PRCAN, Mr. John Ehiguese, said that the Fireside Chat is coming at a time when Nigeria had just come out of recession, emphasizing that the Fireside Chat is aimed at helping its members to learn from the mistakes made during the recessionary period in order to enable them to adequately prepare for the anticipated growth in 2018.
Ehiguese stressed that the Fireside Chat is geared towards looking at the dynamics of the macro-economic sector and its possible impact on the Integrated Marketing Communications Industry (IMC) in the coming year.
He said: “Basically, there is a lot of dynamics in the macro-economic sector. We are looking at the projected growth for next year. Obviously, there were some lessons that we have learnt when we were still in a recession as a country”.
“This Fireside Chat is going to help in creating the needed awareness and enlightenment for PR professionals in the country. It will also help stakeholders in the IMC sector to adequately prepare for the future and the projected growth of next year, so that the IMC industry will not be left behind in the scheme of things”, Ehiguese added.
Asked about the choice of Dr. Biodun Adedipe, Chief Consultant, B. Adedipe Associates Limited as the guest speaker who is expected to speak at the Fireside Chat, the PRCAN boss declared that Dr. Adedipe is a highly respected economist who is regarded as one of the best brains in the country.
According to him, Dr. Adedipe is the best man to discuss the topic because he has garnered a lot of experience as an economist and he has the ability to dissect the various macro-economic factors for easy assimilation and understanding.
With a programme of this magnitude, it is believed that the professionals in the Public Relations industry will begin to favourably compete amongst their peers in the IMC industry by giving the profession a voice as well as position the practitioners for growth in the sector.
