As many organisations continue to grapple with COVID-19 pandemic and what is likely to be its long aftermath, the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN), in its quest for speedy recovery, is set to host a robust webinar, featuring the theme: “Sustainable Financial Modeling for Media Business”.
The OAAN 2021 Webinar series is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 10.00am and will be handled by thought leaders & industry experts with experience across diverse sectors under one platform. The experts will be weaving their inputs around the theme to help strengthen coping measures that will accelerate faster recovery for the practitioners.
Experts to lead the discussion include:
Guest speaker: Mr. Taiwo Joda, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, ACCION Microfinance Bank.
Panelist: Mr. Dipo Dawodu
Mr. Femi Adelusi, MIPAN President.
Moderator: Mr. Babs Fagade
Host: Mr. Emmanuel Ajufo, President, OAAN.
Speaking on the webinar with MARKETING EDGE in an interview, Mr. Babatunde Oyekan, the publicity Secretary of the association, revealed that it was an idea conceived by the committee in-charge. He stated that it was generally accepted by the association who thought it imperative and apt after consultation between the committee and the association.
His words: “The Committee brought various topics, but we felt that financial sustainability is imperative at this present time of ours after the Covid-19 experience and the economic situation of the country as well. There is need for us to sustain whatever financial capability we can work on between now and when we can recoup our investment in the media industry, while considering the effect of Covid-19. That was why we picked this topic majorly.”
The publicity secretary also spoke on the impact of the webinar on both OAAN and the industry generally, considering the caliber of the diverse speakers.
Hear him: “The impact is not going to be on OAAN alone but the entire industry, because when you are able to sustain yourself in these challenging times, you should be able to break even. But with the present situation of the country, we can’t do that. When we get experienced industry leaders as speakers to talk to us about their experiences and how they have been able to excel, we can then have a feel of their experiences and learn how to sustain ourselves.”
The association stated categorically that the webinar is an OAAN members’ event only, while promising that registration and login details will be shared in due course.
