Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has re-elected Dr. Ike Neliaku, the Managing Director of Right-Angle PR, as the pesident of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). He will continue to pilot the institute’s affairs for the next 2 years.

Dr. Neliaku’s  re-election was unopposed by the 17 newly elected members of the council of the institute. The council members themselves were elected following a keenly contested election by members of the institute at the 2025 Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Week (NIPW) held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

The NIPRW featured public relations stakeholders roundtable with traditional rulers , cocktails night conference, appointment of Nigeria reputation management group (NRMG) meeting proper, and many other activities climaxing with the election of council members.

Members elected the council members who elect the President and Vice President. Both serve as the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Governing Council of the Institute, which is run by a 22-member Governing Council made up of 17 elected members and 5 nominees of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Dr. Neliaku, who is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (FNIPR), is a native of Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka local government area of Anambra State. He holds a BA with honours in Theatre Arts from the University of Jos, a Master’s in Political Economy and Ph.D. in Development Studies, respectively, from the University of Abuja.

In his acceptance speech, he said that he and  members of the council of the institute will use the NIPR platform to continue the work they have started for the institute in re-inventing Nigeria image.

Daudara – Nassarawa, Mr. Akin Agbejule – Niger, Mrs. Olubunmi Adedoyin Badejo – FCT, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha -Anambra, Mallam Bashir Adamu Ched, Dr. Saudat Salah Abdubaqi – Kwara, Comrade Ini Ememobong – Akwa Ibom, Malam Kabir Ali Kobir – Bauchi, Pastor Paulinus Enyidah Nsirim – Rivers, Prof. Sarah Benjamin Lwahas – Plateau, Mr. Adaramola Temitope – Ogun State, Dr. Adewale Oladipo Oyekanmi – Osun, Chief Patrick Ogoegbunem Uka – Delta, and Sajoh Ahmed Ibrahim – Adamawa.
